Competition Types

South Melbourne Districts Competition days (Regular Sunday)

Athletes compete in running, throwing and jumping events in a program suited to the age and development of the athlete. The focus of the athletes is to perform at their personal best. South Melbourne Districts Little Athletics also offers training nights focussed on skill development.

State and Regional Championships

Open to U9 to U17 age groups, athletes have the opportunity to represent the club at a Regional and State level. This is also dependent on the entry qualifications having been met for that particular Carnival.

Summer

  • Relays - Regionals & State. The teams are chosen by the centre.

  • Combined Event (individual) - State, consisting of 5 or more events, all athletes can enter the State Championships.  No performance requirements however entries are limited (first in)

  • Track & Field (Individual) Regional & State. All athletes can register for Regional Championships. These act as qualifying for the State Championships.

  • There are X-Country Road Relay Championships, XC State Relay along with Regional and State X-Country Championships.
