6 years in the making, the pinnacle of a sporting career so far, SMDLAC Athlete and Junior Coach, Dash has been selected by Athletics Australia for the National Team for the U20 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, USA.

Dash has had a stellar few years:
2024 Stawell Backmarkers 400 Winner (16yo)
2024 U18 National Bronze - 400m (48.57 PB)
2024 National All Schools Bronze - 400m (47.19 PB)
2025 PowerCor Stawell Gift 5th place (17yo)
2026 U20 National Bronze - 400 in a World Qualify time of (47.34) (18yo)
2026 Team Australia selection

Now the race to finance the trip begins.
No government funding is on the horizon, so it’s on us to raise the funds for us to all get there. Several avenues are open, below is one way club athletes can help in a small way.

Dash flies to Gold Coast for a Training Camp 5-8 June
He then flies to the USA on 26 July, staying in Santa Barbara to acclimatise, train (taper) and adjust the body clock with Team Australia until 2 August, then they relocate to Eugene on 3 August.
2026 U20 World Athletic Championships are 5 to 9 August.
Team Muir will only attend Eugene.
