A big congratulations to our relay teams who competed in the State relay championships at Lakeside stadium last Saturday.

We were greeted by fairly inclement weather on the day but to everyones credit, spirits were high and as the rain and clouds cleared by mid morning our athletes really did put their best foot forward. Whilst we did not have any podium finishes we did have 3 top 10 finishes. They were:

5th place under 9 mixed 4 × 100m
9th place under 10 mixed 4 × 100m
10th place under 9 boys Swedish relay

All of our relay teams put in hours of training during the week, made solid friendships and experienced the “team” side of athletics which comes with many rewards. Big thanks to the parents & carers who managed teams, helped with training sessions and cheered on our teams.

By all accounts it was a great experience for all involved, and given there have been no relays for the past few seasons due to COVID we are really proud of all our athletes and how strongly they represented the club.
